Vutani Consulting Services was founded in Polokwane - Limpopo Province, Republic of South Africa in 2005 and started operating in August 2008.
This was after a long wait of observation of the shortage in engineering services in South Africa, the introduction and encouragement of Small Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMME’s) and Affirmable Business Enterprises (ABE’s) with the aim of ensuring Black Economic Empowerment (BEE). The co-founders decided to register engineering consulting firm, Vutani Consulting Services, to take part in improving the life and skills of the fellow citizens of the country.
Vutani Consulting Services is a black owned consulting engineering firm that was founded with the intention to offer compressive, professional quality services in engineering and its related aspects.
With historically disadvantaged members, Mr Phako Dannis Lesufi (Pr Techni Eng) and Mr Cedric Nkuna (Pr Tech Eng), the firm‘s intention is to recruit other members and more staff, uncompromising, from the historically disadvantaged communities aiming for a gender ratio of 50:50. The main objective of the firm is to “create a pool of engineering technology in the country, for the fellow country communities”.

C Nkuna is a registered Professional Engineering Technologist with the engineering governing body in South Africa (ECSA). He has acquired lots of experience working under experienced professional engineers. His experience covers a wide range of projects, which Include water supply, roads, structures and project management. He has been involved with planning, tender documents and site monitoring of water supply projects. He has gained valuable experience in planning and contract administration of municipal services.
Phako Dannis Lesufi (Pr Techni Eng), ND Eng(Civil), MSAICE, MCET, MSABTACO
P.D Lesufi has extensively been involved in planning, designing, managing and administration of Rural and Urban Infrastructures.
He also implemented projects in other disciplines like, Roads, Structures and Buildings. His experience in Rural and Urban Infrastructure design broaden to Districts and Provincial roads design, roads rehabilitation, bridges inspection, construction monitoring and administration.
He has been involved in preliminary and detail designs, preparation of tender documents, tendering processes, adjudication and reports preparation. He has been involved in office management and management. Phako was registered as a Engineering Technician and he upgraded the registration to become a Professional Engineering Technician. Phako is also in the Process of obtaining his B.Tech (civil) in Water and Urban Engineering.
